BRITISH HOUSE OF LORDS ADVOCATES PADDY ASHDOWN'S POLICIES
BANJA LUKA, JUNE 11 /SRNA/ - Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, said that the British House of Lords advocates the policies of former High Representative to BiH, Paddy Ashdown, who in his autobiography expressed a desire to dismantle the Dayton Agreement and create a "state of BiH" in accordance with the wishes of his friend Alija Izetbegović.
She stated that the entire policy of Great Britain towards BiH is based on that premise and emphasized that it is hypocritical for the British to tell others that they should join the EU when they themselves held a referendum and voted for their country to leave the EU. "They withdrew from the EU and negotiated agreements governing some of their relations," Cvijanović said while answering journalists' questions in Banja Luka. She emphasized that it is particularly hypocritical for someone to concern themselves with the situation in BiH while representing one of the chambers of a parliament somewhere else in the world. "And they are doing so in a manner that is quite misleading, biased, and deliberately directed against Republika Srpska, the SNSD, and Milorad Dodik," Cvijanović stated. She reiterated that it is enough to look at the policies outlined in Ashdown's autobiography and that the current conduct of the House of Lords is part of that same policy. "That Briton was changing laws here, sanctioning people, leaving our people without personal documents, and harassing us in every possible way, only to claim in the end that he was building democracy. Read that sentence, and you will see. He says that he was `shaping it so that it would be in line with the goals promoted during the war by his friend Alija Izetbegović`. Everything you see in the House of Lords today is that same policy," Cvijanović emphasized. The British House of Lords is scheduled to discuss the situation in BiH today. The published report states, among other things, that Russia continues to provide political support to the authorities of Republika Srpska. The document focuses particularly on the president of the SNSD, claiming that his policies weaken the BiH institutions.
